How is this project reaching high-priority or underserved student populations?
Funds from this project were used to pay a consultant to fully update LTCC’s Program Mapper, a digital tool that presents students with clear, quarter-by-quarter academic roadmaps, program learning outcomes, and career insights. This clarity benefits students in several ways: it helps those who want to identify their path before meeting with a counselor, creates transparency around the road to a degree, and gives students who face anxiety or barriers around visiting a counselor access to vital information they need to plan their pathway.
Looking Ahead
A consultant has been hired, and faculty and counseling staff have engaged in a full review of all programs; the Program Mapper is now nearly up to date.
Looking ahead, phase 2 of the Program Mapper project will focus on sustainability: identifying on-campus staff to maintain the tool, training staff to update it and use it effectively with students, and integrating it seamlessly into LTCC’s website.
Because Program Mapper requires thoughtful staffing to stay current, our priority going forward is ensuring it doesn’t become a stagnant resource—it depends on ongoing human engagement and institutional buy-in to remain useful. Our next steps are to elevate its presence on the website and integrate it into the work of our outreach and student services staff so it actively supports students. Ultimately, we hope to make it intuitive enough that students can engage with it independently as they prepare for counselor meetings.
