Expands Los Rios’ data warehouse to support K-16 data sharing with Elk Grove USD and Sacramento State.
About the project
The project expanded Los Rios’ data warehouse and compute capacity and integrated data from various internal Los Rios source systems to meet the needs of the K16 Data Sharing agreements that Los Rios entered into with Elk Grove USD and CSU Sacramento.
By transitioning to a cloud-based data warehouse that integrated data from systems such as Canvas, Salesforce, PeopleSoft, and Highpoint, Los Rios enhanced its data capabilities to meet the needs of the K16 Collaborative program and beyond.
The rationale for this project was to implement the technical components necessary to support the data sharing agreements created for the K16 Data Sharing Pilot Project. The agreement with Elk Grove USD required Los Rios to pull aggregate student success data for dual enrollment students from different platforms. The agreement with CSU required Los Rios to process significant amounts of data to identify unclaimed degrees and/or certificates of adults who had earned but not claimed them, as well as “comebackers” — those close to or who had already achieved degrees and/or certificates.
