About this project
Two high school counselors became adjunct faculty at Cosumnes River College (CRC), supporting high school students with dual enrollment and the transition to CRC. These counselors worked closely with CRC’s Dual Enrollment Success Coach to build awareness, provide support, and offer guidance to help students successfully transition to CRC. CRC also hired a part-time employee dedicated to supporting dual enrollment students.
CRC additionally brought on student ambassadors to serve as peer mentors, offering guidance on academic programs, campus resources, and student services. These ambassadors played a key role in outreach activities, promoting CRC’s programs and answering questions to help ensure a smooth transition for incoming students.
The proposal also included training for EGUSD counselors and staff on recent changes to federal financial aid, legislative updates affecting the transfer process, CCCApply, and other relevant changes. In addition, it provided online tutoring through NetTutor.com to give timely academic support to dual enrollment students.
We will continue to update this post as more information becomes available.
