Historically, transfer students have faced tremendous difficulty making seamless transitions between institutions and thriving upon entry to four-year universities. Without adequate structure, guidance, and support, navigation can become circuitous — causing students to lose their way, exhaust educational funding, and give up on achieving their long-term professional goals.

Avenue B presented a unique opportunity and pathway for motivated, engaged, and eager students from historically marginalized groups to take control of their college experience, take advantage of the resources, tools, and offices available to them, and thrive at their community colleges and UC Davis. The program helps students build professional networks and go on to secure careers in the health professions or other Biological Science fields.
