Scale-Up Accelerator Funds Round Two Announcement

Round 2 Accelerator Funds

Recently, the Sacramento Region K-16 Collaborative awarded a second round of Scale -Up Accelerator Funds following a submission of 14 proposals totaling $2.6 million in requested funds. A review committee composed of nonprofit, industry, philanthropy, and Collaborative representatives carefully evaluated and ranked each submission. Final funding recommendations were approved by our Steering Committee on May 29, 2025. The recipients of the second round of funds are:

Applicant Project Funding
Sacramento State & Sierra College Interdisciplinary Engineering Pathways: A scalable dual enrollment model connecting community college coursework in Mechatronics, Welding, and Advanced Manufacturing to upper-division engineering at Sac State’s Placer Center. $297,000
Arthur A. Benjamin Health Professions High School CNA Certification & Accreditation Initiative: Sacramento’s first high school-based Certified Nursing Assistant program, serving underrepresented students through dual enrollment and work-based learning. $153,000

These high-scoring projects build directly on the momentum of Round 1, advancing our two core career pathways: Engineering and Healthcare.

While we were only able to fund two proposals in this round, we commend all applicants for their innovation and dedication to student success. We strongly encourage non-funded proposals to apply for future funding opportunities.

Thank you to our review committee, Steering Committee, and all applicants for your continued work to strengthen the Sacramento K-16 pipeline and build an inclusive, skilled regional workforce.
