Students of color, low-income learners, first-generation learners, rural learners, adult learners, and comebackers.

Developing regional eTranscript systems to simplify and speed up transfer and reverse transfer processes, saving students time and costs.

How is this project reaching high-priority or underserved student populations?

The eTranscript Infrastructure Project (eTIP) will build the infrastructure postsecondary institutions in the Sacramento region need to accept and apply eTranscript data. By enabling institutions to apply external course credit more quickly, this project streamlines transfer and reverse transfer for students who take classes at more than one institution—saving them time and money as they work toward degrees or certificates at the two- and four-year levels.

Lessons Learned

Unexpected legislative mandates in other areas took priority over this project, and capacity constraints within our IT department have also posed a challenge. Despite these obstacles, Los Rios CCD continues to implement elements of the Graduation Acceleration Project (GAP) initiative—including eTran, front-end transcript evaluation, and credit for prior learning—all of which support the goals of the K-16 Collaborative.
