About this project
Marysville High School (MHS) launched Project MED (Medical Design), a four-year medical pathway program that allowed students to explore healthcare careers while preparing for transition to Yuba College or UC Davis. Developed in partnership with UC Davis and aligned with the Avenue M transfer partnership with Yuba College, the program included internships, field trips, and expert visits. Partners included Adventist Rideout Hospital, Peach Tree Health, and Sutter Hospital.
Beginning in 9th grade, the curriculum featured Honors, AP, and Dual Enrollment courses with Yuba College. The program aimed to reduce barriers to healthcare careers, improve local economic opportunities, and meet California’s evolving healthcare workforce demands.
